SailBot at Pitt
SailBot is a project-based club that aims to compete in an annual robotic sailing competition. Over the course of a year, the team is tasked with designing, programming and fabricating an autonomous sailboat while gaining experience from other students and learning new skills outside of the classroom.
The mechanical team's focus is on the physical design and manufacturing of the boat -- hull, keel, rudder(s), sails, deck, motors, etc.
My personal focus has been on overall sailboat design, SolidWorks design, laser cutting, 3D printing, fiberglassing, and painting. Within the team, I make a point to ensure all design ideas are heard, especially from new members.
